Frequently asked questions
Why is there a flashlight in a weather app?
Because that is what the app was from day one, in 2013: tap the sun and the weather appears together with light from the phone. Drag a cloud over the sun and the light strobes.
There is no weather, only the sun
The app needs location access to fetch the weather where you are. Open the device Settings, find Weather Light, and allow Location while using the app.
Where does the weather come from?
From Apple Weather, the same source as the built-in Weather app. Hourly for 24 hours, daily for ten days, with severe weather alerts where a local authority issues them.
The radar map is empty
It shows rain as seen by public weather radars. On a dry day the map is simply clear, and in regions without a public radar it stays empty even when it rains.
I bought "Ads free" years ago
It still counts. Open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases on any device signed into the same Apple account.
Is the app free?
Yes. A small banner and an occasional ad on return cover the running costs, and the one-time purchase removes them.
